Ethernity Networks is awarded a key wire speed protocols interworking patent
New patent extends Ethernity’s IP Rights throughout the entire Carrier Grade Ethernet Switch protocol interworking and traffic management technology
Lod, Israel – Dec 15th, 2009 – Ethernity Networks Ltd, a leading supplier of Multiservice Fabric Flow Processor for Carrier Grade Ethernet appliances, today announced that is has been awarded patent number 7,620,770 by the US Patent Office for a “ Device and method for storing and processing data units”. The patent applies to a zero copy mechanism for storing an ingress data unit at the DDR memory unit for purposes of packet re-ordering and traffic management, then retrieving a fetched data unit from the DDR memory for data unit processing, wherein the fetched data unit comprises at least a portion of the ingress data unit, all at wire speed and with single read and write to/from external DDR memory. The patent applies to any multi service processing over a single fabric engine, such that a single engine can handle TDM, ATM and Ethernet processing without the need to use a dedicated engine for each protocol for the purpose of protocol interworking. Together with inverse multiplexing (EFM bonding, IMA, MLPPP), advanced Traffic Management and any-to-any wire speed protocol interworking, the new patent enables Ethernity to deliver the lowest cost ever platform using single DDR Memory and integrated into ultra low cost FPGA.

Ethernity Networks introduced NAT, Router and PPPoE termination on ENET3000
Ethernity's ENET3000 offers full L3 to L2 service demarcation from customer network to carrier Metro Ethernet transport network, enabling pure L2 Metro Ethernet.
Lod, Israel – Jan 20th, 2008 – Ethernity Networks Ltd, a supplier of Access Flow Processors, first introduced its L3 and L4 support including Full NAT/PAT and router functionality . This functionality was integrated into the ENET3000, a family of low cost flow based processor and traffic manager solution integrated on ultra low cost FPGA (Altera's Cyclone). The NAT/PAT solution is supported at the ENET3000 located at the Central Office, which include virtual router support and optional PPP termination. The NAT / PAT integrated on the ENET3000 offers service providers / carriers the ability to enhance their broadband service's billing and to offload this functionality from a residential gateway or CPEs, thus reducing Residential Network complexity , gaining control on customer network enabling to offer advanced services, and finally enabling quad play services at line rate, without extra cost at customer site. The Virtual router functionality enables service provider separation, while PPP termination enables the use of Layer 2 Metro Ethernet equipment for transport and DSLAM aggregation, eliminating the need for complex Layer 3 transport Network.
